How it all started…
“I wish we could do more with the Recreation Ground” he said. “Wouldn’t it be great to have different music going on - something for everyone, our young people, families and adults of all musical tastes - where everyone could hang out, dance and enjoy… something a bit of a change from what we usually do?”
“Let me take you to a festival” she said. And so it began….
2023 was our first year and we have great plans for the future! Our extensive programme of events to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day meant we had our hands full in 2024, but we’re back this year with a brand new programme!
Keevil may be one of the smallest villages in Wiltshire but, thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteer groups we’ve always packed a punch when it comes to our social calendar. The team are all deeply rooted (see what we did there!) in our community and excited to be bringing this festival-style celebration of local talent to the village.
Keevil Roots is now part of the Keevil Village Foundation, a not-for-profit community group that aims to promote access to independent village news and information, as well as the enjoyment of music and creative arts, to residents of all ages in and around the village of Keevil, and which also includes the Keevil Village website. We are in the process of applying to the Charity Commission for registration as a CIO (Foundation model).

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
The Keevil Roots Summer Festival is an exciting new community event that we hope will become a staple of our village calendar, celebrating a variety of local talent. We have no pool of funds to call on, so the event is only made possible by the support we receive from grants, sponsors, donations and parking contributions - for which we're incredibly grateful.
This is an ideal and rewarding opportunity to publicise your business, however large or small, to local customers, knowing you are supporting the local community and helping us bring home a quality event.
If you would like to support the Festival in this way, please email us at keevilroots@gmail.com or call Geoff West on 01380 870425. If you would like your donation to be attributed to a specific performance and/or acknowledged on the website please let us know.
