Planning your visit

Keevil is a small village in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside more or less halfway between Trowbridge and Devizes. We don’t have any shops and the nearest pubs are in the neighbouring villages - but we do have a lovely old Norman church, a village hall, a great little recreation ground, and a fabulous community.

Here's some practical information to help you plan your visit. If there is anything else you'd like to know, please contact us.

Getting here

If you’re driving, the postcode is BA14 6NA - follow the signs past the village hall in Marins Road to the entrance of the field where you’ll be able to park. Map is here.

There are mainline rail stations in Westbury, Chippenham and Bath. Trowbridge is our nearest local line station direct from Bath, with taxis available. There are limited bus services from Trowbridge and Devizes.

Car Parking

We’ve arranged parking in the field next to the Recreation Ground, we are asking for a £5 donation per car (register online in advance please, details will be posted next year) which goes entirely to Roots Festival funds for this and future festivals. For those with reduced mobility, we can reserve a few car parking spaces close to the Recreation Ground entrance - please contact us if this sounds like something you might need.

Or you could cycle! Feel good about being environmentally friendly and enjoy the beer without having to worry about driving home.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD ANYWHERE IN THE VILLAGE. Our roads are narrow and any on-street spaces are needed by residents. Please help us maintain an orderly flow of traffic through the village and ensure access for emergency vehicles.

Accessibility

We want our festival to be inclusive and welcoming to all. Although it is a rural location and the field and footpaths are a bit bumpy in places, the Recreation Ground is accessible to wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The Village Hall (for toilets) has a ramp and wide doors. For those with reduced mobility, we can reserve a few car parking spaces close to the Recreation Ground entrance - please contact us if this sounds like something you might need.

Timings

Activities on the Recreation Ground start at 3pm, but gates to the parking area will be open from 1pm for performers and exhibitors to set up. The music will continue through the evening, exact times TBC…

Food and Drink

Details to come, but we are already assured of GREAT COFFEE as Elodie and the LITTLE PINK DOOR are already confirmed! Details will be posted here

Picnicking

You’re welcome to bring your own picnic rugs and chairs onto the Recreation Ground. Sun shelters are also fine but we’d ask you to keep them to the edges so as not to block views of activities.

Single use plastic

We want to keep our use of plastic to a minimum. Please re-use your beer or drinks vessel throughout the Festival so far as possible. Water bottles can be refilled from the Village Hall.

Toilets

The lavatories in the Village Hall will be open for use throughout the Festival.

Weather

The festival will go ahead whatever the weather, so if it looks like rain, although there will be some covered space in the marquees, do bring waterproofs and wellies!
